Don't get talked into not having kids, dude. You will most likely regret it when you are older. Your lady will be cat lady. The welfare state will not exist when she retires. Why? Because we are already in steepening demographic decline. Third world immigrants are not going to pay for your retirement.

It is always awkward to talk about money, But it really does determine whether kids are an option or not. Obviously the physical constraints of giving birth to a child, Pretty much any man and woman could do that together, But to do it well, Money is especially important. In London, I believe the cost of living and economic realities are comparable to the United States (where I am from) But London is a bit more expensive. Just to paint a picture, The most expensive home in London is 200 million pounds. To buy a home, Send your kids to school, And have some money left for yourself, Realistically 3 million pounds seems like an entry level threshold. 10 million would put you in the upper class, But with 3 you could generally afford to have kids, Send them to Eaton, And they could chose between Oxford and Cambridge with no worries of financial struggle. They might not be the top but it would still be a good life. 100 million pounds is globally wealthy, You can live any life you want in any part of the world and pretty much never run out of money. 1 billion pounds is when you start thinking about owning a bank or media outlet corporation. 1 billion pounds is you change the world on a regular basis money. 100 billion pounds is .1 percent money, and 200-250 billion is .001 percent. The top of the top. I think the family starts between 3 and 10 million if you want to do it well.

Aww really seems that deep down David wouldnt mind having a kid but Jenny has offered him so many outs and possibilities to leave to have them. Seems like David's choice to have London (Jenny) because he knows he loves the experience whereas he'd also love Tokoyo but it would be harder to acclimatize and he couldnt standing losing Jenny. Good on you Jenny and David 😊

I am 25, my wife is 22. We had our first child a few weeks ago. It has been an absolute blessing. The pregnancy with all the ups and downs, the day of child birth and now the diaper phase were we get a lot of support from the family (alhamdulillah) has really made us grow stronger, bond more, love and trust each other more. We were before, but it is different now. Way better

I am 42, got a child who is now 16, a gentle teen. I could have had more but I decided against it. I do not regret the experience of motherhood, as a way of internal growth. But there are others ways of doing it that do not come with the responsibility of a human being. I am happy that staying childfree has become a valid option nowadays. And I do love kids. I love them so much that it is my day job and a real joy. Parenting is not for everyone, it is so hard, so challenging, so taxing that if one is not absolutely, deeply, drawn to it, better not doing it.

I never wanted children, and then I got pregnant. My daughter is 7 months old now. While being a mother has been difficult and depressing, I love her so much that I would never trade her. In fact, the day I found out I was pregnant, I was watching a few UA-cam videos about women saying they never wanted children, and I was like “yeah, me neither lol”. While being a mother doesn’t fit my personal lifestyle and aesthetic, I can say that my daughter is the most beautiful blessing I’ve ever encountered. I can’t say I’d do it again, or that I want another one. But I can say that I love her more than I’ve loved anyone. Life is interesting that way.

Thanks for the reminder that Monday morning is one point in time when all the possibilities are possible. It's been a while since the previous time. Ex and I did not want to have kids. We did not agree on the dog situation. Years after the split, she got a dog. I guess it's more safe for women to take long walks in the woods if they are accompanied by a guy or a dog, or at least that's what she said. It's weird that a man can walk around basically anywhere, and women worry about their safety in some of the places if they were to walk around there alone. I'm already kind of curious how you will develop as an artist during and after the years of your publishing contract. I hope it is not just a one-off and there will be more different books to come in the future. Have you done the Swedish/English translation by yourself? Where does your appreciation for champagne come from? I ask that from the perspective of not being fond of hiccups ;-) A book tour would be so much fun. I was dreaming of that years ago when I had self-printed a volume of my experimental poetry. But poetry has got the reputation that it does not sell. That is completely different with novels which is one of the major genres you see in bookstores. I fondly remember seeing your face in a bookstore before: on the cover of a German language magazine. My first thought back then was "Wow, David must be so proud of you". And now, with the book release, it must be 10 times that or more, considering how enthusiastic you both are about the book. Congrats again! Here's a hint: Being able to share memories from your time in Berlin might be enticing to German Friday night talkshows so they invite you to talk about life, your lifestyle in general, all your content creating activities and the German version of your book.

Being childfree is the only area of my life where I'm 100% sure I've made the right choice. I don't know what I'm going to do or how long I'm going to live. I might become religious, or I might not. I keep myself open minded in general, but I know that having children would be the wrong choice for me. I'm almost 40, and as time passes, I feel more and more confident about my decision. I'm more committed to childfreedom than I was yesterday, and tomorrow, I'll probably be even more committed.

I have one son… and really wanted to be a mom… loved it … still love it ( he is 31 now) But I am and was never a kidsfan of others … So your own kid is at least for me is a compleetly different feeling
